"Get Out of China"... Korea-China Assault Dispute at Hongdae Entrance Over 'Wuhan Pneumonia'?

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Koreans and Chinese who engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated to assault on the street have been booked.

Seoul Mapo Police Station announced that at around 1:30 a.m. on the 29th, they investigated three Koreans and four Chinese near Hongdae Entrance Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on charges of assault following a dispute.

According to the police, the verbal dispute between the two groups began when their shoulders accidentally bumped while walking.

The Chinese group stated during the police investigation that "the Korean group made remarks such as 'Get out to China'."

In response, one member of the Chinese group assaulted the Korean group first, and as the Koreans tried to hold back this Chinese individual, the verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation.

Both sides later reached an agreement during the police investigation and submitted a letter of no desire for punishment, so the police plan to forward the case to the prosecution with a recommendation of 'no prosecution' due to lack of prosecutorial rights.
