"The Public, Demagogues Make Them Stupid"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, on the 28th, saying, "The biggest victim of the 'incitement' that Chairman Yoo is doing is actually Chairman Yoo himself."
On the afternoon of the same day, Jin posted on his Facebook, saying, "Chairman Yoo has been quiet lately, but he must still be diligently spreading misinformation somewhere under the name of 'Roh Moo-hyun (former president)', right?"
He continued, "All those lies that can be seen through are possible because he treats his supporters as brainless beings," adding, "A large portion of the public has been listening exclusively to such inciting broadcasts daily for almost ten years since 'NaGgomSu' (I Am a Trickster). Naturally, serious aftereffects remain in their frontal lobes."
Professor Jin pointed out, "The more the cognitive functions of supporters decline like this, the more the level of lies told by the agitators gradually decreases in the long run," and "Their audience’s rational thinking is already paralyzed, so they are easily deceived even if the lies are not sophisticated, or they willingly accept the lies knowing they are false."
He added, "The thinking ability of the liars themselves gradually converges to the level of those people they have made fools of," and "Unused organs tend to atrophy, and the brain is even more so."
Professor Jin questioned, "Hasn't Chairman Yoo become quite strange lately?" and raised his voice in criticism, saying, "It’s not a matter of biological age, but all of this is an inevitable result of the mechanism of such incitement."
He pointed out Yoo’s claims during the Cho Kuk scandal that it was "not evidence destruction but evidence preservation," and "not a proxy test but an open book," saying, "Such statements are just ridiculous jokes to normal people, but his supporters do not laugh at these jokes and rather believe them seriously."
He continued, "As a result, the speaker naturally ends up delivering these ridiculous statements seriously. That’s how one gradually becomes a foolish person."
Then, Professor Jin stated, "Incitement may be one-sided, but the damage is not one-sided," and argued, "Agitators make the public stupid, but the public also makes the agitators stupid."
