Samyang Foods Launches 'Sillim-dong Baeksundae Bokkeummyeon'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Samyang Foods announced on the 29th that it has launched ‘Sillim-dong Baek Sundae Bokkeummyeon,’ a ramen that recreates the Baek Sundae (white blood sausage) of Sillim-dong in Seoul.

‘Sillim-dong Baek Sundae Bokkeummyeon’ features noodles made with starch and cocoa powder in the dough to replicate the chewy texture and appearance of the glass noodles inside the sundae.

Additionally, the liquid soup contains sundae stir-fry powder, perilla seed powder, and pepper, and a separate seasoning oil infused with the flavor of perilla leaves completes the savory and umami taste of Baek Sundae seasoning. Cabbage, carrots, and red chili peppers are added as flakes to enhance the visual appeal.

The new product, Sillim-dong Baek Sundae Bokkeummyeon, allows consumers to easily enjoy the taste of Baek Sundae alone, and it is expected to attract the interest of many consumers, including single-person households.

Offered as a cup noodle, Sillim-dong Baek Sundae Bokkeummyeon is available nationwide starting from convenience stores, with a retail price of 1,600 won.

A Samyang Foods representative said, “This product offers a differentiated taste and visual experience through the fresh combination of ramen and Baek Sundae,” adding, “We plan to continue introducing new products and setting trends in the ramen market.”
