[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is set to conduct on-site inspections of emergency patient transport companies.
Gyeonggi Province announced that from February 29 to March 17, it will carry out regular on-site inspections of 19 emergency patient transport companies and 186 ambulances (147 special, 39 general) in cooperation with city and county public health centers.
The main inspection items include ▲whether ambulance markings and internal equipment are secured ▲whether medical equipment and emergency medicines in ambulances are secured ▲whether registration (license) certificates and transport treatment fee schedules are posted ▲whether operation logs, dispatch and treatment records are preserved for three years ▲compliance with personnel standards ▲whether qualifications such as emergency medical technicians are lent ▲whether dispatch and treatment records are submitted to the Emergency Medical Support Center, among others.
A provincial official stated, "Through this inspection, we plan to promote the improvement of emergency medical quality and the safe operation of ambulances," adding, "If violations are found, we intend to seek practical improvements in the quality of emergency patient transport services through administrative measures such as correction orders, suspension of business, and fines in accordance with relevant laws."
During the last regular on-site inspection, the province identified violations in 2 out of 13 companies, including failure to preserve operation logs and dispatch and treatment records, failure to store video information processing device data, failure to submit dispatch and treatment records to the Emergency Medical Support Center, and absence of emergency medical technicians on board, resulting in administrative sanctions.
