LG Electronics Korea Sales Headquarters announced on the 29th that it donated 18 PuriCare air purifiers and 3 CordZero A9 cordless vacuum cleaners to the Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital located in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the 28th. The donated products were purchased with funds raised through an in-house charity auction and donation event.
The fundraising was conducted in a special way. All employees of LG Electronics Korea Sales Headquarters donated membership points accumulated by purchasing LG Electronics products using the ‘Gift Points’ feature of the LG Electronics membership app. Approximately 3 million points were collected through this event alone.
Employees also put up a total of 113 items including clothing, sports goods, and daily necessities for the in-house charity auction. The auction proceeds of about 6 million won were all used to purchase the donated products.
LG Electronics expects that the donated products will help create a comfortable environment in the hospital and assist in the rehabilitation of children with disabilities.
The Purme Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, operated by the Purme Foundation, is the only rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities in Korea. It serves as a stepping stone to help children with disabilities overcome difficulties in medical rehabilitation, social rehabilitation, and vocational rehabilitation to integrate into society.
Choi Yeohwan, Executive Director of HR at LG Electronics Korea Sales Headquarters, said, "We will continue to strive to share the love we have received from customers with neighbors who are going through difficult times around us."
