Shinhan Bank "Airport and Hospital Branch Employees Must Wear Masks"... Financial Sector Alarmed by Wuhan Pneumonia

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Shinhan Bank has instructed employees at branches located in airports, hospitals, and other locations to wear masks at their own discretion to prevent the spread of damage caused by the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).

According to the financial sector on the 28th, Shinhan Bank sent an official letter to branches nationwide on the 23rd, just before the Lunar New Year holiday, providing information on the current status of damage caused by the novel coronavirus and response measures.

A Shinhan Bank official explained, "As of the 23rd, we explained the status of domestic and international patients and symptoms, and urged employees to thoroughly manage hygiene," adding, "In particular, branches located in airports and hospitals were allowed to wear masks based on their own judgment."

General branches were also allowed to have employees wear masks while working if necessary.

Additionally, Shinhan Bank installed thermal imaging cameras in the lobby of its Taepyeongno headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. Since fever is one of the symptoms of the novel coronavirus, employees with high fever are restricted from entering the headquarters.
