[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Clayarch Gimhae Museum is ablaze with creative energy.

The Ceramic Creation Center at Clayarch Gimhae Museum, operated by the Gimhae Cultural Foundation, announced on the 28th that it is hosting the '2020 Clayarch Winter International Ceramic Art Camp,' featuring 16 artists from four countries: Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan. The camp began on the 9th of last month and will continue for 38 days until the 15th of next month.

This camp is the second event since its inaugural session last year. Last year, only three countries?Korea, China, and Taiwan?participated.

The participating artists are currently graduate students and were also participants in last year's 'Asia Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition.' They are regarded as promising next-generation leaders who will guide the future of the Asian ceramics scene.

During the 38 days, the artists stay at the Ceramic Creation Center and engage in various programs including artwork production, artist presentations, lectures and critiques, invited lectures, traditional technique demonstrations, and cultural and artistic tours.

Among the invited lecturers are Professor Kim Dae-yong from Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Professor Lee Young-mi from Hongik University, Professor Park Jung-geun from Dongduk Women's University, Professor Bang Chang-hyun from Kyung Hee University, Professor Kim Mi-kyung from Ewha Womans University, Professor Kim Jong-in from Seoul Women's University, and Professor Choi Ji-man from Sookmyung Women's University, who will deliver lectures on ceramics and art to the artists.

As an international event held locally, the camp is also planned with a focus on the development and promotion of regional ceramics. For the traditional technique demonstrations, artists from the Jinrye area of Gimhae have been invited to introduce Gimhae ceramics to the participating artists.

Potter Song Young-bok of Dasong Ceramics and potter Son Hyun-jin of Doyeon Ceramics will personally demonstrate various techniques such as tea ware making, Buncheong techniques, and tea bowl production, interacting with the artists.

The artists' works will be exhibited at the 'Asia Ceramic Exchange Exhibition,' held at the entire Cubic House from the 15th of next month until May 5th.

A camp official stated, "As a support project for emerging Asian artists, it will contribute to the domestic ceramics industry and the development of regional ceramics," adding, "We will strengthen the international exchange capabilities of the Gimhae Cultural Foundation and lay the groundwork for selection as a UNESCO Creative City."
