The movie "Perfect Stranger (2018)" will be remade in Vietnam. Lotte Cultureworks Vietnam announced on the 28th that it will invest in and produce the Vietnamese remake of "Perfect Stranger," titled "Bloody Moon Fest."
"Perfect Stranger" is originally based on the Italian film "Perfect Strangers." It has been remade in various countries around the world, including Korea, France, Germany, and Spain. Lotte Cultureworks explained, "We believe the Korean version is the most suitable for Vietnamese sensibilities, so we signed the rights contract with a local Vietnamese production company."
Lotte Cultureworks will jointly carry out all stages of film production with the local production company. Director Lee Jae-gyu, who directed "Perfect Stranger," and other domestic production staff will serve as advisors.
"Bloody Moon Fest" is a black comedy that depicts events occurring during a dinner on the night of a red moon. Director Quang Vung, who directed the remake of the Korean film "Sunny (2011)," will take the helm. Director Phan Cine, who directed the Vietnamese version of "Miss Granny," will participate as a producer.
Lotte Cultureworks stated, "As the Vietnamese film market is rapidly growing, we plan to produce and release six films this year in collaboration with local production companies and directors." Lotte Cultureworks has previously invested in and produced films such as the remake of "Dad is Daughter" and "Hai Phung" in Vietnam.
