[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lee Dong-seop, Acting Floor Leader of the Bareunmirae Party, pressured on the 28th regarding the meeting between Representative Sohn Hak-kyu and former lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo the previous day, saying, "It is now a grave situation where the party leadership must be reestablished or replaced," and added, "It is time for Representative Sohn's final decision."

At the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Acting Floor Leader Lee said, "In a political career, nothing is more important than knowing when to advance and when to step back."

He pointed out, "Currently, South Korea's third-largest party is being run by a small number of political appointees around Representative Sohn," and added, "In fact, the party's functions are paralyzed."

He continued, "What is even more frightening is the judgment of the people," and added, "The current party approval rating is below that of the Justice Party and the New Conservative Party, and it is competing at the bottom with the Party for Democracy and Peace and the Alternative New Party."

Acting Floor Leader Lee emphasized, "We no longer have any time left," and said, "This week is the golden time when the Bareunmirae Party's survival or death will be decided, both politically and in public opinion."

He said, "Any member of the party, regardless of political advantage or disadvantage, must put down their vested interests and look solely to the future of the party," and added, "There is no justification to avoid or reject former lawmaker Ahn's proposal to ask the party members, who are the owners of the party, about the party's direction."
