[Asia Economy reporters Lee Ji-eun and Kim Hye-min] The New Conservative Party raised their voices, accusing the Moon administration of destroying the rule of law in relation to the Ministry of Justice's prosecution personnel appointments. They also announced plans to file a complaint against Lee Seong-yoon, the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, for dereliction of duty and other charges for disobeying Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl's order to indict Choi Kang-wook, the Secretary for Public Office Discipline.

All members of the New Conservative Party held a condemnation press conference in front of the Blue House on the 28th and stated their intention to submit the complaint against Lee Seong-yoon to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. Co-representative Ha Tae-kyung said, "President Moon Jae-in gave the appointment letter to Prosecutor General Yoon, but when the prosecution's blade turned toward power-related corruption and close aides, he carried out a purge of the prosecution," adding, "President Moon is committing deeper evils than the Park Geun-hye administration. If the Fifth Republic was military fascism, the current Moon administration is civilian fascism."

Yoo Seung-min, chairman of the Conservative Reconstruction Committee, said, "The Yoon Seok-youl prosecution is rewriting the history of South Korea's judiciary," and added, "I want to encourage Prosecutor General Yoon and the righteous prosecutors who uphold the law, principles, and justice that Yoon seeks to protect, to never lose in their fight against President Moon." He emphasized, "Among all past Prosecutor Generals, none has withstood the pressure from the living power as much as Prosecutor General Yoon has," and said, "If Prosecutor General Yoon endures until the end, the history of the rule of law in our Republic of Korea will be rewritten. The people are with him, so I urge him to hold on until the end and uphold the law and principles."

On this day, the New Conservative Party members stated in a press release, "The Moon administration seriously undermined the independence and political neutrality of the prosecution by demoting Prosecutor General Yoon's close aides just five days after Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae's inauguration, followed by a massacre of the investigative command that was probing power-related misconduct," and raised their voices, saying, "They are obstructing the legitimate exercise of prosecutorial authority to derail the prosecution's investigation into the Blue House, tightening control over the prosecution through personnel purges while disguising it as prosecution reform."

The lawmakers emphasized, "The Moon administration, intoxicated with power, mistakenly believes they are eternal rulers and are dancing a mad sword dance, but the only eternal things are the people and the nation," and said, "We hope the Moon administration realizes that the end of political corruption is political and legal judgment."
