[Breaking] First Medical Worker Treating 'Wuhan Pneumonia' in China Dies

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Donghyun] As the novel coronavirus known as 'Wuhan pneumonia' spreads in China, a medical worker presumed to be the first infected with the disease in China has died.

According to major local foreign media including the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 25th, otolaryngologist Dr. Liang Wudong (62), who worked at Xinhua Hospital in Hubei Province, passed away.

Dr. Liang is suspected to have been infected with 'Wuhan pneumonia' on the 16th. He was then transferred to the designated hospital, Jinyintan Hospital, on the 18th for treatment but did not recover his health.
