On the 25th, according to an analysis by Chaebol.com of Chairman Lee's stock valuation, as of the closing price on the 20th, it was recorded at 19.2608 trillion won, exceeding 19 trillion won for the first time in history.
Chairman Lee's stock valuation previously peaked at 18.9851 trillion won on January 29, 2018, but surpassed 19 trillion won for the first time on this day, setting a new record after two years. It then slightly decreased, recording 18.8671 trillion won as of the 23rd.
By year, Chairman Lee's stock value peaked at 18.5836 trillion won at the end of 2017, but as the stock prices of group affiliates declined, it dropped to 13.6289 trillion won by the end of 2018.
Last year, due to a slight rebound in stock prices at the end of the year, it recovered to 17.6213 trillion won. Recently, as Samsung Electronics has been hitting record highs daily, Chairman Lee's stock valuation has surged by about 1.6 trillion won this year.
Chairman Lee holds 249,273,200 shares of Samsung Electronics (4.18% stake), 619,900 preferred shares of Samsung Electronics (0.08%), 9,701 shares of Samsung SDS (0.01%), 5,425,733 shares of Samsung C&T (2.86%), and 41,519,180 shares of Samsung Life Insurance (20.76%), among others.
Samsung Electronics' stock price reached 2.65 million won (converted to 53,000 won per share after stock split) just before the stock split in May 2018, but experienced a slump dropping to the 37,000 won range after the split.
Recently, with expectations of a semiconductor industry recovery, it hit an all-time high of 58,600 won as of the closing price on the 9th and continued its upward trend, closing at 60,800 won on the 23rd.
The valuation of Samsung Electronics shares held by Chairman Lee accounts for about 15.2 trillion won as of the closing price on the 23rd, representing approximately 80% of the total stock valuation he holds.
