[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] On the 23rd, the 7th day since four Korean teachers and three locals went missing in the Annapurna region of the Nepal Himalayas, the domestic search team is considering temporarily suspending the search at the accident site.

According to KT, the KT drone search team plans to meet with the families of the missing persons around 5 PM local time (8 PM Korean time) to explain the situation and discuss future plans.

A KT official stated, "It is true that we are considering a temporary suspension due to unfavorable local weather conditions, but nothing has been finalized," adding, "Captain Eom Hong-gil will meet with the families to explain the rescue situation and discuss whether to continue the search." However, the official added, "We will not withdraw immediately without the consent of the families."

The KT drone search team, led by mountaineer Captain Eom Hong-gil, has been conducting search operations at the accident site for three consecutive days since the 21st, deploying large drones and rescue dogs on this day.

Meanwhile, foreign media reported that Nepalese rescue authorities have also decided to suspend the search. The Associated Press reported that Nepalese rescue authorities decided to halt the search for four missing Korean teachers and three Nepalese guides in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas. The Nepalese military, which conducted the search, carried out operations such as digging deeply into snow at certain points but failed to find any clues about the whereabouts of the missing persons. It appears this decision was made due to difficulties caused by worsening weather conditions.
