From that day until the 29th, announcements for local constituency National Assembly candidates will be made, and candidate applications will be accepted from the 30th of this month until the 5th of next month. Party membership fees amounting to 900,000 KRW, which corresponds to the last three months of the standard party fee payment, must be paid, and the screening fee is 1,000,000 KRW.
However, candidates in their 20s are fully exempt from the screening fee and receive full support for primary election costs. Candidates in their 30s are granted a 50% exemption on the screening fee and 50% support for primary election costs. For persons with severe disabilities, North Korean defectors, multicultural individuals, and merit recipients, full exemption of the screening fee and full support for primary election costs have been decided. Whistleblowers, party office staff, and National Assembly aides are granted a 50% exemption on the screening fee and 50% support for primary election costs.
The vice chairman of the Nomination Committee is Attorney Lee Seok-yeon, and subcommittees such as the Fair Election Subcommittee and the Public Opinion Survey Subcommittee have also been formed. The second meeting will be held on the afternoon of the 27th at the National Assembly main building.
