[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Due to the impact of the "Wuhan Pneumonia (Novel Coronavirus)" in China, aircraft takeoffs and landings at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport have been banned.

According to the aviation industry on the 23rd, Chinese aviation authorities notified the ban on aircraft takeoffs and landings at Wuhan Airport around 12 PM that day. Since this measure is not an official airport closure, it is reported that it was not disseminated through a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).

Currently, Korean Air and China Southern Airlines each operate four flights per week on the Incheon-Wuhan route. Previously, T'way Air was also scheduled to newly launch twice-weekly flights on the Incheon-Wuhan route starting on the 21st, but postponed the schedule due to the Wuhan Pneumonia situation.

Meanwhile, according to Korean Air, there are about 100 passengers booked on the Incheon-Wuhan route. A Korean Air official stated, "Since takeoffs and landings at the airport are banned, refund procedures for the affected passengers will follow."
