"Exchange New Bills for Sebaetdon at Bank Mobile Branches During Seollal Holiday"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Banks will provide deposit and withdrawal transactions, new bill exchanges, remittance, and currency exchange services at major highway rest areas, train stations, and airports during the Lunar New Year holiday period.

According to the Bankers Association on the 24th, banks will operate mobile and flexible branches for customers who find it difficult to visit branches during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Nine banks will operate 14 mobile branches at highway rest areas and train stations for the convenience of returning travelers and other customers. They will provide services such as deposit and withdrawal transactions and new bill exchanges.

NH Nonghyup Bank will operate the mobile branch "NH Wings" for two days on the 23rd and 24th at Manghyang Rest Area on the Busan-bound Gyeongbu Expressway and Hanam Dream Rest Area on the Jungbu Expressway. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shinhan Bank will operate the mobile branch "Bangbird" at Hwaseong Rest Area on the Mokpo-bound Seohaean Expressway, and Woori Bank will operate the mobile branch "Weverse" at Yeoju Rest Area on the Gangneung-bound Yeongdong Expressway and Cheonan Rest Area on the Busan-bound Gyeongbu Expressway. The operation period is two days from the 23rd to the 24th; Shinhan Bank’s operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Woori Bank’s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additionally, 10 banks will operate 33 flexible branches at major airports, train stations, and areas with a high concentration of foreign workers. They will provide deposit and withdrawal transactions, remittance, and currency exchange services. The status of high-function unmanned automated machines that allow deposit and withdrawal, account opening, and new subscription to savings and time deposits can be checked on the Bankers Association website’s consumer portal under "Flexible Branch Search."
