McDonald's Makes 'McChicken Mozzarella' a Permanent Menu Item

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] McDonald's announced on the 23rd that it will add the ‘McChicken Mozzarella,’ which was released as a limited-time offer last year, to its regular menu.

The McChicken Mozzarella is a hearty burger boasting a perfect combination of the essence of a mild chicken burger, the ‘McChicken,’ with spicy Italian-style Arrabbiata sauce and savory golden mozzarella cheese sticks. When it was reintroduced in October last year as a special limited-time menu item alongside the McChicken relaunch, it received enthusiastic attention from customers, with thousands of tasting reviews and mukbang videos posted on social networks such as YouTube and Instagram immediately after its release.

The McChicken Mozzarella was originally planned to be sold only until December last year, but due to positive reviews and continuous customer requests to extend the sales period, McDonald's actively reflected customer opinions and decided to include the McChicken Mozzarella in the regular menu for continuous sales without a time limit. Previous examples of limited-time burgers becoming regular menu items at McDonald's include the ‘1955 Burger,’ which was sold as a limited edition to commemorate the 25th anniversary of McDonald's Korea in 2013, and the ‘Shubi Burger,’ themed on the animated Minions, released in 2015.
