Seoul Arts Troupe 'Along with the Gods - The Afterlife' 4th Run... Featuring Jo Hyung-kyun, Jo Sung-yoon, and Others

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Actor Jo Hyung-kyun, who won the Best Actor award at the 4th Korean Musical Awards, will appear in Seoul Arts Company's original musical 'Along with the Gods - The Two Worlds' this March.

Seoul Arts Company will present 'Along with the Gods - The Two Worlds' as its first performance of the year from March 25 to April 12 at the CJ Towol Theater in the Seoul Arts Center. Based on the popular webtoon by writer Joo Ho-min, 'Along with the Gods - The Two Worlds' premiered in early 2015. It was staged again in 2017 and 2018, and this will be its fourth run.

Jo Hyung-kyun will reprise his role as Jin Ki-han, the public defender of the afterlife, from previous performances. Alongside him, Jo Sung-yoon joins as a new actor playing Jin Ki-han. The kind-hearted man who lives without law, Kim Ja-hong, will be portrayed by Jung Won-young and Seoul Arts Company's promising talent Shin Sang-eon, both of whom appeared in the previous two productions. The taciturn but humane afterlife guide, Kang-rim, will be played by Kim Yong-han and Kang Sang-jun of Seoul Arts Company. The supreme authority of the afterlife, King Yeomra, will be portrayed by Lee Seok-jun and Geum Seung-hoon, who has been with the production since its premiere. Workaholic afterlife guide Hae-won-maek will be played by Choi Jung-soo, and the bright youngest afterlife guide Deok-chun will be played by Kim Geon-hye and Lee Hye-su. The restless spirit with an unjust death, Won-gwi, will be portrayed by Lee Ki-wan.

The fourth season of 'Along with the Gods - The Two Worlds' introduces a change where King Yeomra, the distinctive kings of the afterlife, will be played in multiple roles by the same actor. Director Kim Dong-yeon explained, "The original webtoon and films are already widely known and beloved by the public. To add theatrical enjoyment, the actor playing King Yeomra will perform multiple kings of the afterlife in a multi-role performance, and the actor playing Jijang Bosal will appear as various characters during Kim Ja-hong's journey in the afterlife. Symbolically, this aims to show that salvation and judgment are not opposing forces but coexist with humans in different forms."

After the Seoul performances, Seoul Arts Company plans to perform at the Wei Wu Ying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts in Taiwan in May.

Tickets for this performance will be available for reservation from 10 a.m. on the 7th of next month, and Seoul Arts Company paid members can make early reservations on the 3rd and 4th of next month.
