"My junior was beaten up by a group for 2 hours"
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] In Gimhae, Gyeongnam, there have been reports that teenage students collectively assaulted a junior and recorded the assault on video, sharing it on social media, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the police on the 22nd, two teenage students are suspected of forcing a junior to kneel and repeatedly slapping their cheeks near an apartment in Gimhae around 6 a.m. on the 19th. It is also reported that they poured soju on the victim's head.
They also recorded the assault on their mobile phones and shared the video.
Earlier that day, a Facebook page reporting news from Gimhae posted a message stating, "At around 6 a.m. on January 19th, my junior was subjected to a two-hour group assault at an apartment in Gimhae," along with a video approximately 35 seconds long.
In the released video, a female student is seen kneeling with her head bowed deeply, while another female student pours something from a frying pan onto her head.
Then, one cheek is struck, followed by the other cheek as if the assailant's anger was not yet appeased. According to the poster, the victim suffered eye bleeding and bruises all over the body.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
