[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 21st (local time), AP News reported that an American worker who had criticized the Donald Trump administration killed a coworker who supported President Trump.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Florida, Mason Tony was arrested and charged with killing his coworker William Knight at a highway construction site in Florida on the 20th.

According to coworkers, the two were usually friends but had different political views. Tony criticized the Trump administration, while Knight supported Trump.

On the day of the incident, the two argued over political issues at work. According to coworkers' statements, when the argument escalated, Knight tried to put Tony in a car to move him elsewhere.

Soon, when Knight's screams for help were heard, coworkers rushed over. However, Tony was stabbing Knight with a weapon. He also shouted "terrorist" at other coworkers. Next to Knight's body was an American flag.

After killing Knight, Tony fled in a truck but was arrested a few hours later in a nearby county.

AP News reported, "No lawyer has come forward to defend Tony, and no bail has been set," adding, "He is being held in the Orange County jail."
