[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Gil (real name Gil Sungjun), a former member of the hip-hop duo Leessang who caused controversy due to drunk driving, is returning to broadcasting after three years.

On the 22nd, Channel A's 'Eye Contact' confirmed, "It is true that Gil will appear on the show," adding, "Filming was recently completed, and the episode is scheduled to air on the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, the 27th."

Previously, Gil caused controversy with a total of three drunk driving incidents.

He was summarily indicted and fined in 2004 for drunk driving. Later, in April 2014, he was caught driving under the influence near Hapjeong Station in Seoul, resulting in his license being revoked. Consequently, he withdrew from the MBC variety show 'Infinite Challenge,' where he was a regular cast member at the time.

After a period of self-reflection, Gil attempted a comeback through Mnet's 'Show Me the Money 5' in 2016. However, in June 2017, he was caught during a drunk driving crackdown after parking his car at the entrance of Namsan 3rd Tunnel in Seoul and sleeping inside.

Upon hearing the news of Gil's return, netizens voiced criticism, saying things like, "Not once or twice, but three times drunk driving...," "Drunk driving is attempted murder," and "I hope he doesn't appear on TV."

'Eye Contact' is a silent variety show where people with special stories convey their sincerity through eye contact.
