[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu District Office (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 22nd that KAC Korea Arts Academy (Dean Kim Hyung-seok), located in Chunghyeon-dong, plans to donate the funds raised through the ‘ART WEEKS Festival’ held at the end of last year to low-income families.
This donation activity was promoted under the agreement between Seodaemun-gu and Korea Arts Academy with the purpose of “allowing talented young artists to provide cultural content to citizens and thereby help neighbors in need.”
Co-hosted with the ‘Korean Salvation Army Charity Kettle,’ the event was held for the fourth time, and until last year, a total of 2.1 million won in donations was delivered to students from low-income families attending arts-related classes.
Korea Arts Academy students performed with the ‘Special Charity Kettle’ produced by the Salvation Army last month on the academy campus, Sinchon Yonsei-ro, as well as in areas including Hongdae, Myeongdong, and Gangnam.
The collected donations are scheduled to be delivered to low-income youth in Seodaemun-gu in March. Seodaemun-gu Office Welfare Policy Division (330-8634)
