[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Go Yang-seok) practiced warm neighborly love once again this year ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

Since its launch in 2017, the traditional market shopping event has entered its fourth year this year. It began with the purpose of revitalizing the local economy and continues this year by delivering goods purchased at traditional markets to neighbors in need within the community.

Council members wore sashes on the 20th and 21st in each electoral district to carry out a campaign to revitalize traditional markets. Using Onnuri gift certificates, they personally selected seasonal fruits, meat, daily necessities, and more, actively engaging in efforts to boost the local economy.

The purchased items will be delivered to five social welfare facilities in the area, including those for children and people with disabilities, to help marginalized neighbors have a warm holiday.

In addition to delivering goods, they visited facility residents to offer encouragement and support to workers, sharing both the market experience and heartfelt warmth.

Chairman Go Yang-seok stated, “There are still many people around us who need warm attention and care from their neighbors. As we approach the holiday, I hope everyone looks around at their neighbors and shares their hearts for a warm holiday.” He added, “The Gwangjin District Council will also take the lead in fostering a culture of sharing in the local community through various activities.”
