[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Haneul, the CEO of the underwear shopping mall 'Haneulhaneul' and a YouTuber, has been embroiled in allegations of power abuse. Haneul denied the claims, stating, "I have never acted that way."

Recently, a screenshot of a Glassdoor company review claiming "Haneul abused employees at the shopping mall" has been spreading on online communities. Glassdoor is an online platform service where users can anonymously post reviews about their workplace experiences.

On the 17th, a netizen A, who introduced themselves as a "former employee," wrote a review about Haneul's shopping mall company, Haneulhaneul Co., Ltd.

They revealed, "Even when someone makes a mistake, the company just forgives it if you flatter them. The CEO only comes to work when filming YouTube videos, and everything is at the CEO's discretion. Yesterday, the CEO said they liked something, but today suddenly says they don't."

They continued, "When the CEO is in a good mood, they praise everyone, but when in a bad mood, they scold. When you come to work, all employees have to check the CEO's mood and even spy on their Instagram," adding, "Calling employees late at night outside of the 9-to-6 working hours is standard. Why have working hours? Why contact employees on weekends and call them late at night without consideration? The CEO thinks that if they pay employees, they should adjust to any time, whether it's late at night or weekends."

A said, "The CEO thinks of themselves as the only princess, and employees are just their shuttles," criticizing, "Ignoring employees is basic, but the CEO lives under the illusion that they are a very good boss."

They also stated, "Isn't the CEO the only protagonist in the world? Let's think about the employees too," and criticized, "The reason there were no bad reviews on Glassdoor was not because you were liked, but because there were so few employees that people were afraid of being criticized if they complained."

Earlier, on the 26th of last month, another netizen B also posted criticism of Haneul. B wrote, "The CEO treats employees like their slaves," and "Employees do the hard work, while the CEO does the glamorous tasks." B also claimed, "The CEO called a newly hired employee into the meeting room and suddenly hit their head with a pen."

Additionally, Haneul's company was shown on another corporate information site, 'CreditJob,' to have a turnover rate exceeding 90% and a company rating of 1 point.

As the controversy grew, Haneul denied the allegations through YouTube comments, saying, "I have never acted that way."

She explained, "The high turnover rate in the second half of the year was due to our starting cosmetics manufacturing and sales. We judged that our existing in-house warehouse was unsuitable for storing cosmetics, which are prone to discoloration and deterioration, so we moved to a third-party logistics (3PL) optimized for cosmetics storage. During this transition, existing logistics staff either resigned or transferred to the 3PL company, which caused the turnover."

Born in 1993, Haneul operates the underwear shopping mall 'Haneulhaneul.' She first gained public attention through the 2011 Comedy TV show 'Ulzzang Generation 6.' The YouTube channel she operates, 'Oneul-ui Haneul' (Today's Haneul), currently has 880,000 subscribers.
