Candidate Min said, "The Deobureorak Senior Welfare Center is not just a place to receive welfare benefits like other senior centers, but has become a hub for the village community," adding, "I am grateful to the elderly who share their experience and wisdom with the local community through the senior welfare center."
He continued, "As the saying 'Yangro jire pilyo georeon (養老之禮 必有乞言)' goes, the greatest filial piety is to receive wisdom and teachings from the elderly," and added, "I will always seek guidance from the elderly, who are the main actors of the village community. I will ask for their teachings (Georeon, 乞言)."
The elderly said, "Candidate Min Hyung-bae did well during his tenure as mayor of Gwangsan-gu, so we believe he will do well in politics if he goes to the National Assembly," and offered words of encouragement, saying, "Try to properly change the National Assembly."
During his tenure as mayor of Gwangsan-gu, Candidate Min is evaluated to have changed the paradigm of senior welfare by establishing the Deobureorak Senior Welfare Center and enabling the elderly to form self-governing associations to participate in the operation of the welfare center, with the administration supporting this.
The Deobureorak Senior Welfare Center was featured as an 'Excellent Case of Resident Autonomy' in elementary school textbooks in the Gwangju area in 2014 and was also selected as the best case of 'Administrative Service Co-production' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in 2015.
