[Asia Economy Reporters Lee Ji-eun and Kim Hye-min] On the 22nd, Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty Korea Party, held a New Year's press conference at the Yeongdeungpo party office and, regarding his emphasis on the sacrifices of senior members, stated, "Deciding who to nominate in which region is a matter for the nomination committee," adding, "I was just discussing the direction."

He said, "I spoke about making strategic decisions that can save the Republic of Korea and revive the Korea Party, and that I am willing to step up and dedicate myself where necessary," adding, "This issue will be judged once the nomination committee is formed, and I believe the decision will ultimately be made in the direction most beneficial to the Korea Party."

Leader Hwang said, "I also asked the senior members to make some difficult decisions again," and added, "As you mentioned, some have responded positively while others have not yet, but I think there can be more support once the will of the people is determined."
