Gyeonggi-do Publishes 'Regulation Rationalization Casebook'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has published a 'Regulation Rationalization Casebook' containing excellent cases of regulatory improvements from the province and frontline cities and counties.

This casebook includes ▲ Anyang City's 'Entry into the 13 trillion KRW market by resolving regulations on original technology drug infusion pumps' ▲ Gyeonggi Province's 'Resolving unexecuted parks with 1 trillion KRW and 3 trillion KRW' ▲ Gyeonggi Province's 'Civil petition document diet,' among others.

It also contains 27 excellent cases of regulation rationalization promoted across five fields: public administration, industry and small and medium enterprises, health and social welfare, land and regional development, and new industries.

The province plans to distribute the casebook to central government ministries, 31 cities and counties within the province, and research institutions to expand consensus on the necessity of regulation rationalization. It also intends to encourage the use of the regulation rationalization casebook as educational material for public officials.

A provincial official said, "We are very honored to publish this casebook that fully contains the achievements of regulation rationalization accomplished by traveling through 31 cities and counties within the province last year," adding, "We will continue to carefully examine and rationally improve unnecessary regulations that hinder the development of the Republic of Korea and Gyeonggi Province."

Last year, the province discovered a total of 92 improvement tasks and resolved 12 regulations through 31 sessions of 'Visiting Regulation Reform Meetings' with cities and counties.

In September last year, the province swept a total of four awards, the largest nationwide, including one grand prize and three excellence awards at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2019 Local Regulation Innovation Excellent Case Competition.'
