Mokpo City Implements Emergency Medical Measures for Lunar New Year Holiday

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Mokpo City (Mayor Kim Jong-sik) announced on the 22nd that it will implement an "Emergency Medical Care Plan during the Lunar New Year Holiday" to ensure that returning visitors and citizens can spend a healthy and safe Lunar New Year holiday.

To prevent medical service gaps during the holiday period, the city has designated on-duty medical institutions by medical specialty and region among 143 medical institutions in the area to ensure uninterrupted medical care, and will operate on-duty pharmacies by region at 169 locations.

Additionally, on Lunar New Year's Day, the Mokpo City Health Center will independently deploy a public health physician specializing in internal medicine and nurses to be prepared to treat patients.

Furthermore, to promptly respond to emergency patients and mass casualty incidents, six emergency medical institutions in the area will maintain a 24-hour emergency medical care system to be ready for immediate treatment and emergency care in case of emergencies, strengthening the response posture.

To provide quick guidance on medical institutions and pharmacies available during the holiday and to prepare for emergency situations, the Health Center plans to establish and operate a situation room (277-4000).
