[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus provided hearing aids to the hearing impaired in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that, in collaboration with the social welfare organization Sarangui Dalpaengi, it delivered 27 hearing aids to 22 hearing-impaired individuals. Among the recipients were Korean War veterans and students from financially disadvantaged families.
LG Uplus employees raise funds through the "Praise and Thanks Ripple Campaign," which donates 1,000 KRW per message of praise or thanks sent between colleagues, and use these funds to support hearing aids for hearing-impaired people nationwide. Since 2016, they have provided a total of 63 hearing aids to 57 hearing-impaired individuals, including low-income children and elderly living alone.
Jo Young-woon, Secretary General of Sarangui Dalpaengi, said, "Many hearing-impaired people need hearing aids but cannot afford to purchase them due to economic difficulties, or continue to use outdated hearing aids. We hope that those who received hearing aids through support from LG Uplus will be able to communicate with their neighbors and live happy lives."
