[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Greta Thunberg (17), a youth environmental activist, said on the 21st (local time), "If we do not treat climate change as a real crisis, we cannot solve it."

Thunberg stated this at the 50th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, Switzerland, saying, "Although climate and environmental issues have become a hot topic, in reality, nothing has progressed so far."

Regarding the global impact of the school strike she led demanding climate action, she explained, "It is because of the young people who stood in solidarity and alliance," adding, "People are more aware of climate change than before, making it a hot topic."

At the same time, Thunberg emphasized that no problems have been solved yet and argued, "World leaders need to listen more to the voices of the youth."
