[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Following the New Conservative Party, the recently founded Miraereul Hyanghan Jeonjin 4.0 (Jeonjin Party) has also launched a 'party-to-party consultative body' with the Liberty Korea Party.

On the afternoon of the 21st, Lee Eon-ju, the leader of the Jeonjin Party, held an emergency press conference at the National Assembly's Press Hall and announced, "The Liberty Korea Party and the Jeonjin Party have decided to start party-to-party consultations."

Lee said, "Each party had already been conducting behind-the-scenes talks with the Liberty Korea Party, but yesterday the New Conservative Party officially established a party-to-party consultative body with the Liberty Korea Party," adding, "The Jeonjin Party will also officially activate a consultative body with the Liberty Korea Party."

From the Liberty Korea Party, Cho Kyung-tae, a Supreme Council member, will participate as the representative in the consultative body with the Jeonjin Party. From the Jeonjin Party, Lee Eon-ju will take the lead. Lee stated, "If circumstances are unfavorable, Supreme Council member Lee Jong-hyuk will conduct the negotiations." Lee Jong-hyuk is a figure who left the Liberty Korea Party ahead of the 2018 local elections and joined the Jeonjin Party.

Lee emphasized, "The Jeonjin Party's goal is a change of era and a generational shift," and added, "Our aim is to drastically replace the existing political forces." He continued, "Although the impeachment controversy continues, to truly overcome the internal factional conflicts represented by pro-Park and anti-Park groups and the wounds inflicted on the public by the impeachment controversy, a large-scale replacement of forces is inevitable," and said, "If integration occurs, the opposition party must become a grassroots party."

He said, "This means that those who have actually fought on the ground should become the leading forces of the political power," and added, "Factions must not be restored, nor should there be a re-integration into the Saenuri Party." This is interpreted as a move to check the possibility of integration discussions centered on the Liberty Korea Party and the New Conservative Party.

Regarding the integration talks between the New Conservative Party and the Liberty Korea Party, Lee referred to them as "those returning to the party from the New Conservative Party," and emphasized, "While one side thinks integration will be centered on those returning to the party, younger forces, civil society groups, and former members of the People's Party will gather to discuss and combine integration."
