Registered as a Korean Party Preliminary Candidate in Buk-gu, Pohang

"Impeach Moon Jae-in" 'Mom Corps' Leader Joo Ok-soon to Run in April 15 General Election On the morning of August 8 last year, Ju Ok-sun, the representative of the Mom Corps, is speaking at the 5th Press Conference for the Restoration of Korea-Japan Relations held in front of the former Japanese Embassy in Jongno-gu, Seoul.


[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Joo Ok-soon, the representative of Mom's Army, has registered as a preliminary candidate for the Liberty Korea Party in Pohang Buk-gu for the April 15 general election. In the past, Representative Joo made impeachment remarks against President Moon Jae-in and sparked controversy with 'pro-Japanese remarks' and others.


According to the list of preliminary candidates for the 21st general election released by the Central Election Management Committee on the 21st, Representative Joo completed her preliminary candidate registration at the Pohang City Election Commission the day before (20th).


Representative Joo said in a video posted on her YouTube channel, "I will do my best to restore the collapsing free Republic of Korea and the declining economy of Pohang," adding, "From now on, I will continue to meet you in Pohang."


In the video, supporters of Representative Joo shouted "Joo Ok-soon to the National Assembly," appealing for support.

Last August, Representative Joo held a rally near the Embassy of Japan in Korea and said, "Prime Minister Abe, as one of the people, I sincerely apologize," sparking controversy.


At the time, participants of the rally including Mom's Army shouted, "The Moon Jae-in administration should apologize to the Japanese government," and "Impeach Moon Jae-in (President) who incited anti-Japanese sentiment," criticizing our government.


At this event, Representative Joo said, "Prime Minister Abe, I sincerely apologize as one of the people for the destruction of all aspects of Korea-Japan relations caused by the Korean leader's weakness and ignorance."


Representative Joo is from Pohang, Gyeongbuk, and founded 'Mom's Army' in 2013, supporting groups such as Park Sa-mo (Park Geun-hye Lovers' Association) and the Korean Parents' Union. She also served as the vice-chairperson of the Liberty Korea Party's Digital Party Committee.


The incumbent lawmaker for Pohang Buk-gu is Kim Jeong-jae of the Liberty Korea Party.
