KT Offers 5 Days of Free Data Roaming for Customers in Their 20s

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] KT announced on the 21st that it will run the ‘Y Roaming Pass’ promotion, offering free data roaming benefits to customers in their 20s. A ‘Y Signal’ event, where participants can win prizes by uploading 인증샷, will also be held.

The Y Roaming Pass promotion is an event that allows free data roaming at speeds up to 1Mbps for 5 days in 185 countries worldwide. KT customers aged 29 or younger who have subscribed to Y Box can apply once per year. Data roaming can be used for 5 days during the vacation periods from January 20 to February 29 or from July 1 to August 31.

The Y Signal event, a 인증샷 event themed around ‘Y Roaming,’ is open to anyone regardless of their telecom provider. Participants can take fun and creative Y poses or find place names, business names, or items related to the 185 Y roaming countries within Korea and upload them to their personal SNS with hashtags.

The first 50 people each day will receive a Starbucks Americano. Additionally, one participant each week who uploads the most original 인증샷 for the ‘Y Pose’ and ‘Y Roaming Country Search’ events will receive an AirPods Pro and a Galaxy Watch, respectively. The event runs from today until February 29.

This promotion was planned to commemorate the launch of the ‘Y Super Plan,’ a 5G plan exclusively for customers in their 20s, which was released on the 13th. The Y Super Plan maintains the basic concept of the 5G Super Plan, which offers unlimited domestic and international data, while enhancing data roaming benefits.

Meanwhile, KT started commercial 5G roaming with China Mobile in December and began 5G roaming with China Unicom on the 20th. With this China Unicom 5G roaming service, users can use 5G roaming in China with the same phone they use in Korea. The devices that can use 5G roaming are ▲Galaxy S10 5G ▲Galaxy Note10 5G ▲Galaxy Note10+ 5G ▲Galaxy A90 ▲Galaxy Fold 5G ▲LG V50, totaling six models, and a device software update is required.
