[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Samsung C&T's fashion division, Beanpole, announced on the 21st that it has designated this year as the inaugural year for launching eco-friendly products and has released the eco-friendly line 'B Cycle' centered around its flagship brand.
Beanpole Men used Gore-Tex fabric treated with an eco-friendly water repellent as the outer material and designed padding and coats with PrimaLoft, a down alternative insulation, as the lining. All products are made from 100% recyclable materials.
Additionally, through collaboration between Samsung C&T Fashion Division's material development team and R&D, they developed insulation made from recycled PET bottles and introduced products such as reversible quilting jumpers and vests.
The newly developed insulation not only provides functionality comparable to PrimaLoft but is also more than 50% cheaper in terms of price.
This year, they also launched RDS down products certified as ethically sourced down without animal cruelty for the first time. Starting with the release of the RDS-certified trucker jumper, the first in the traditional industry, they plan to apply it to various products in the upcoming fall and winter season.
Beanpole Men is further solidifying its position as a sustainable brand by releasing fleece T-shirts made from recycled polyester and sneakers made from recycled leather.
Beanpole Ladies launched trench coats, jackets, and padded coats made from recycled nylon material derived from discarded fishing nets. The outer fabric uses yarn made from discarded fishing nets that have undergone washing and spinning processes, and recycled polyester developed in-house by Samsung C&T Fashion Division is used as insulation.
Beanpole Kids released products such as boys' shirt-type short jumpers and girls' A-line raglan jumpers using recycled padding insulation developed by Samsung C&T Fashion Division.
Namyoung Park, General Manager (Executive Director) of the Beanpole Business Division, said, “Starting with the 30th anniversary brand renewal, we are practicing the philosophy of sustainability as part of becoming a global brand. We will not stop at launching eco-friendly material products but will establish systems as a top-tier brand on a global scale in production, processes, distribution, and packaging.”
