"Purpose of Rental Income Through Lease Composition"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Sung-yeol] Webtoon artist and broadcaster Gian84 (36, Kim Hee-min) has become a building owner worth around 4 billion KRW.
According to a report by Maeil Business Newspaper on the 20th, Gian84 purchased a commercial building located in Seokchon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, for 4.6 billion KRW last November.
The building consists of one basement floor and four above-ground floors (land area 339.2㎡ (102.6 pyeong), building area 802.55㎡) and currently houses a restaurant and an entertainment academy, among others.
According to the report, Jeon Gye-woong, team leader at the real estate brokerage site 'Eight Building,' said, "It appears that the purchase was made with the intention of remodeling in the future, leveraging the advantage of the station area to operate part of it as a company office directly while also generating rental income through tenant composition."
The exact annual income of Gian84 has not been disclosed.
Gian84 is a webtoon artist ranked among the top in views on Naver Webtoon and has mentioned that "broadcasting income is about one-tenth of webtoon income."
According to Naver Webtoon last September, the average annual income of all artists is 310 million KRW, and the average annual income of the top 20 artists is 1.75 billion KRW.
Additionally, Gian84 founded a webtoon-related corporation called 'Gian84 Inc.' last year and is currently operating it with five employees.
Meanwhile, Gian84 debuted in 2008 with the webtoon 'Nobyeongga' and gained fans' love with works such as 'Fashion King' and 'Return to School King.' 'Fashion King' was also released as a movie in November 2014.
Furthermore, Gian84 has been active as a broadcaster, appearing on entertainment programs such as tvN's 'Sold Out Project' starting in 2012, MBC Every1's 'Webtoon Hero Toondra Show' in 2015, and MBC's 'I Live Alone.'
