Yangcheon-gu Temporarily Allows Parking Near Traditional Markets During Lunar New Year Holiday Mokdong Kkaebi Market Parking Allowed Routes

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will temporarily allow parking on roads around traditional markets until the 27th in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The district decided whether to permit parking after consulting with the Yangcheon Police Station and conducting on-site inspections, considering traffic conditions, whether parking is feasible, and if there would be no significant disruption to traffic flow.

The areas where parking will be temporarily allowed are around three traditional markets in the region: ▲ Singok Market (79, Nambusunhwan-ro 79-gil) ▲ Mokdong Kkaebi Market (29, Mokdong Jungangbuk-ro) ▲ Sinjeong Jeil Market (30, Jungang-ro 34-gil).

The parking permitted sections are ▲ Singok Market (from NH Nonghyup Bank to KB Kookmin Bank, 260m) ▲ Mokdong Kkaebi Market (from Dongje Oriental Medicine Clinic to Meojin Eye Glasses, 150m) ▲ Sinjeong Jeil Market (from Badahoe Fish Market to PAT Sinjeong Branch, 60m), totaling three sections.

Parking is allowed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for up to 2 hours.

During the holiday period, the district will deploy enforcement teams with the Yangcheon Police Station to conduct on-site crackdowns and guidance on illegal parking outside the permitted zones.

A Yangcheon-gu official said, “To promote the use of traditional markets and convenience for visitors during the holiday, we are temporarily allowing parking. We hope people visit the traditional markets during the Lunar New Year to prepare holiday meals economically.”
