[Photo] Donation Parade Continues in Dongdaemun-gu Ahead of Seollal Holiday

On the 20th, the Social Welfare Council and Nanum Sangnokhoe Visit Dongdaemun-gu Office to Donate Rice for Warm Seollal Holiday Support to Neighbors in Need

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, a wave of donations for neighbors in need continues in Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol).

On the morning of the 20th, the Dongdaemun-gu Social Welfare Council (Chairman Park Sang-jong) visited the Dongdaemun-gu Office and donated 500 bags of "Love Rice" (10kg per bag, worth approximately 12.5 million KRW) to help ensure a warm Lunar New Year.

Five officials, including Chairman Park Sang-jong, attended the donation ceremony.

The district plans to distribute the donated rice to low-income families in the area through the Dongdaemun-gu Social Welfare Council.

On the same day, the Nanum Sangnokhoe (Chairman Ryu Byung-ho) also visited the district office and donated a total of 100 bags of "Lunar New Year Rice" for a warm winter in 2020 (10kg per bag, worth approximately 3 million KRW).

The donation ceremony was held with the attendance of Chairman Ryu Byung-ho, General Manager Lee Seok-hyun, and Auditor Yoo Wan-hee of Nanum Sangnokhoe.

The rice donated by Nanum Sangnokhoe will be delivered to vulnerable groups in Imun 1-dong.

Since 2013, Nanum Sangnokhoe has been donating "Love Rice" annually to Dongdaemun-gu. To date, they have donated a total of 15,000 kg (worth about 36.8 million KRW), demonstrating their love for neighbors.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I thank Nanum Sangnokhoe and the Dongdaemun-gu Social Welfare Council for sharing their hearts so that neighbors in need can have a warm Lunar New Year again this year." He added, "Our district will also carefully ensure that no neighbors are left out during the Lunar New Year holiday."
