[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon targeted Lee Tan-hee (41), a former judge who was recruited as the Democratic Party of Korea's '10th talent' on the 19th, calling him "someone who traded public interest whistleblowing for a parliamentary seat."

On the same day, Jin posted on his Facebook, saying, "They say it is 'ordinary justice' for a judge to act as a regime's lapdog and then become a member of the National Assembly," and pointed out, "Under the Moon Jae-in administration, such shameless acts are truly becoming 'ordinary'."

He continued, "What is even more disgusting is that they call such acts 'justice,'" adding, "The Democratic Party's last chewing gum, when unwrapped, tastes 'sour'."

He stated, "Originally, 'recruitment' is about bringing in figures symbolizing positive values for a surprise show, but they recruited someone who traded public interest whistleblowing for a parliamentary seat as talent," and "You can guess the current state of ethical awareness among the Democratic Party members."

He further criticized, "This person might be the card that properly shows the party's ideology and values of careerism and opportunism," and "Since the Cho Kuk family has become the standard of morality, by their standards, this person might also be seen as a saint."

Former professor Jin quoted Judge Jeong Wook-do, saying, "People like Judge Lee Tan-hee are called 'robes politicians,'" and pointed out, "The absurd thing is that these robes politicians are packaging judicial corruption, which they trade with the regime, as 'judicial reform.'"

He added, "This is the current state of Moon Jae-in-style reform," and "It seems they intend to turn even the judiciary into the regime's lapdog following the prosecution."

Earlier that afternoon, the Democratic Party's Talent Recruitment Committee held the 10th talent recruitment announcement ceremony for the 21st general election at the National Assembly and announced, "We have recruited former judge Lee, who fired the starting signal for exposing judicial manipulation to the world."

Lee, who was appointed as a judge in 2008, was assigned as a deliberator at the Court Administration Office in 2017 and, upon learning of documents such as the 'judiciary blacklist' and the 'plan to dismantle the International Human Rights Law Research Association,' submitted his resignation.

Although the resignation was initially rejected, it led to the arrest of former Chief Justice Yang Sung-tae and became the catalyst for judicial reform.

After former Chief Justice Yang was arrested by the prosecution, Lee submitted his resignation again and is currently working at the public interest human rights foundation 'Gonggam' to protect the rights of socially vulnerable and minority groups.
