Strengthening Patrols and Detective Activities in Crime-Prone Areas and Conducting Communication-Focused Traffic Operations
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency announced on the 19th that it will implement a "Comprehensive Security Plan for the Lunar New Year Holiday" for 8 days from the 20th to the 27th to ensure that residents can have a peaceful holiday.
During this period, Jeonnam police plan to focus on crime-prone areas such as financial institutions and convenience stores handling large amounts of cash, conducting crime prevention diagnostics to reinforce security facilities against vulnerabilities, and promoting crime prevention awareness and the establishment of self-defense security systems.
Based on the results of the crime prevention diagnostics, patrol routes will be adjusted, and available police officers including local police volunteers, police mobile units, and permanent squads will be mobilized to the fullest extent. Customized patrol activities will be conducted around residential areas, commercial districts, and foreigner-dense areas in cooperation with autonomous crime prevention groups.
In particular, special investigative activities will be concentrated on areas and times with frequent violent crimes, and special management will be carried out for households at risk of recurring domestic violence and children at risk of abuse during the holiday period, with efforts to protect them.
Additionally, police officers will be proactively deployed to expected traffic congestion areas such as highway congestion zones, traditional markets, stations, terminals, and public cemeteries to ensure smooth communication and allow residents to enjoy a comfortable holiday.
A representative of the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency said, "We will mobilize all police capabilities to ensure that residents can spend a safe and peaceful Lunar New Year holiday, provide trust to the residents through maintaining public order, and do our best for a safer Jeonnam."
