[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Shin Kyuk-ho (99), Honorary Chairman of Lotte Group, has been confirmed to be in critical condition and was admitted to the intensive care unit at Asan Medical Center in Seoul on the 18th.
On the 19th, a Lotte Group official stated, "Last night, Honorary Chairman Shin's condition rapidly deteriorated, and in preparation for any situation, key executives of the group have gathered at the hospital."
Lotte is reportedly closely monitoring his health condition, considering his advanced age as he approaches 100 years old.
Previously, Honorary Chairman Shin was also hospitalized at Asan Medical Center in December last year due to health issues. In November, the month before, he was hospitalized for about two weeks due to dehydration symptoms.
