Crime Prevention Diagnosis and Patrols in Vulnerable Areas such as Gold and Silver Shops
Special Traffic Management During Lunar New Year Holiday

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] The Ulsan Police Agency is strengthening special security activities ahead of the major national holiday, Seollal.

The Ulsan Police Agency announced that from the 20th to the 27th, an 8-day special security campaign will be conducted to prevent crimes affecting people's livelihoods and violent crimes such as robbery, theft, and burglary before and after the Seollal holiday.

During the special security campaign, the Ulsan Police Agency will enhance promotional activities to prevent burglaries along with crime prevention inspections at cash-heavy businesses such as financial institutions and gold shops.

Based on the results of the crime prevention inspections, patrol activities will be carried out in vulnerable areas by detectives, local police, the criminal mobile unit, and the permanent squad.

Additionally, in preparation for the possibility of domestic violence and child abuse during the holiday, dedicated police officers will monitor families at risk of recurrence and actively provide guidance on reporting procedures and response methods.

Furthermore, from the 18th to the 27th, a 10-day period around Seollal has been designated as the "Seollal Holiday Special Traffic Management" period. Traffic police, local police, the permanent squad, cooperative organizations such as model drivers, and the traffic patrol unit (cyclical motorcycles) will be deployed to manage traffic on major roads including those used for returning home.

From the 18th to the 22nd, traffic police will be stationed in major congestion areas around agricultural and marine products markets, large supermarkets, and department stores to facilitate citizens purchasing ritual items and gifts.

From the 23rd to the 27th, during the Seollal holiday, traffic police will be concentrated in areas such as Sinbok Rotary and National Route 7, where returning and departing vehicles are expected to be heavy.

On Seollal day, personnel will be deployed mainly around the entrances and exits of Okdong Park Cemetery and Haneul Park, where many visitors pay respects to ancestors.

A Ulsan Police Agency official stated, "Special crackdowns on drunk driving will be conducted during the Seollal holiday period, so absolutely no drunk driving should be done," and urged, "We ask for the participation of all citizens to ensure a safe and comfortable Seollal holiday."
