Lotte Duty Free Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Surprise Drone Show in Collaboration with Lanc?me

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Duty Free showcased a surprise drone show around Seokchon Lake in Songpa-gu, Seoul.


Lotte Duty Free announced on the 19th that to commemorate its 40th anniversary and the New Year, it held a drone show for about five minutes starting around 6:30 PM on the 18th in collaboration with the global beauty brand Lanc?me.


A total of 300 drones were deployed for this event, forming shapes of a ‘lantern’ and a ‘white rat’ to herald the New Year. Afterwards, the drones displayed Lanc?me’s brand logo and messages celebrating Lotte Duty Free’s 40th anniversary, illuminating the area around Lotte World Tower.


Simultaneously with the drone show, a projection mapping and media facade light show utilizing Lotte World Tower was held on the ground. Roses symbolizing Lanc?me and the 40th anniversary emblem of Lotte Duty Free, designed by pop artist Steven Wilson and attracting attention, were showcased.


Key figures attending the drone show included Lee Gap, CEO of Lotte Duty Free; Lee Seung-guk, Head of Merchandise Division at Lotte Duty Free; Iris Lam, Director of L’Or?al Travel Retail Asia Pacific; Tao Zhang, General Manager of Lanc?me; and actress Suzy, the official model of Lanc?me.


Lee Seung-guk, Head of Merchandise Division at Lotte Duty Free, said, “To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Lotte Duty Free in 2020, we presented a drone show together with the global beauty brand Lanc?me. Lotte Duty Free will continue to bring great joy to customers through close partnerships with renowned brands.”
