Three Private Toll Roads in Gyeonggi-do Including Ilsan Bridge to Waive Tolls During Lunar New Year Holiday

Three Private Toll Roads in Gyeonggi-do Including Ilsan Bridge to Waive Tolls During Lunar New Year Holiday

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Three privately operated roads in Gyeonggi-do, including Ilsan Bridge, will waive vehicle tolls for three days during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Gyeonggi-do announced on the 19th that from the 24th to the 26th, tolls will not be charged on three privately managed roads in Gyeonggi-do: Ilsan Bridge, the 3rd Gyeongin Expressway, and the Seo Suwon?Uiwang Expressway.

This measure is in accordance with the "Holiday Expressway Toll Exemption" policy stipulated in the Toll Road Act and considers connectivity with expressways operated free of charge. The province has been waiving tolls during holidays since Chuseok 2017.

Usage remains the same as usual: vehicles equipped with Hi-Pass should use the Hi-Pass lanes, and regular vehicles should pass through the toll booths.

The tolls waived during this Lunar New Year holiday for privately operated roads are 1,200 KRW for Ilsan Bridge, 900 KRW for the Seo Suwon?Uiwang Expressway, and 2,300 KRW for using the entire section of the 3rd Gyeongin Expressway, based on passenger cars.

The province expects about 1.2 million vehicles to use these roads during this period: 220,000 on Ilsan Bridge, 570,000 on the 3rd Gyeongin Expressway, and 410,000 on the Seo Suwon?Uiwang Expressway.

Accordingly, the province estimates the benefits to users at 1.2 billion KRW.

Meanwhile, during last year’s Lunar New Year holiday (February 4?6), a total of approximately 1.01 million vehicles enjoyed free toll benefits.
