Two Additional Suspected Cases of 'Wuhan Pneumonia' in Singapore

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Two more suspected cases of 'Wuhan pneumonia' have been reported in Singapore. This brings the total number of suspected cases to five.

According to the daily Straits Times on the 18th, the Singapore Ministry of Health announced that a 64-year-old Chinese man and a 61-year-old Singaporean woman, who had traveled to Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, showed symptoms of pneumonia after entering the country.

The new suspected cases are reportedly receiving treatment in isolation. Authorities are conducting detailed tests to confirm any connection to Wuhan pneumonia. These patients are currently reported to be in stable condition.

Previously, two Chinese nationals who had visited Wuhan and one Singaporean man showed pneumonia symptoms and were treated in isolation. However, all were confirmed to be unrelated to Wuhan pneumonia.

On the 13th, two Chinese nationals entering Thailand were confirmed as Wuhan pneumonia patients, and a patient was confirmed in Japan on the 16th.
