Busan City Promotes 'Large Waste Easy Disposal Service'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Busan City announced on the 20th that it will promote the ‘Large Waste Easy Disposal Service,’ which allows reporting of large waste disposal and payment of collection fees through a smartphone application.
Currently, to dispose of large waste in Busan, residents must report by phone to the district or large waste collection and transportation agency of their address, and after the district or agency staff confirm the disposal items, the fee must be paid on-site. Reporting is only possible during business hours, and there were many inconveniences such as having to meet the staff in person on the collection day.
Once the Large Waste Easy Disposal Service is implemented, disposal reports can be made anytime and anywhere via smartphone. In addition, collection fees can be conveniently paid through various methods such as bank transfer or card payment, making it easier to dispose of large waste.
Busan City discussed specific implementation plans and schedules through a district staff meeting on the 16th to ensure the service is implemented quickly, and plans to actively request districts to implement the service.
Lee Bong-geol, head of the Resource Circulation Division of Busan City, said, “Active cooperation from the districts is necessary for many citizens to use the service,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to minimize citizens’ inconvenience through proactive cleaning administration services.”
