Winter Vacation Songpa-gu Museum Outing Operation

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seong-su Park) announced that it will operate the "Songpa-gu Museum Outing" program in collaboration with local museums until March 1st to celebrate the winter vacation.

Now in its 22nd year, the "Songpa-gu Museum Outing" is a cultural and artistic experience program operated in cooperation with seven museums located throughout the region: ▲Songpa-gu Yesong Art Museum ▲Songpa Book Museum ▲Hanseong Baekje Museum ▲Mongchon History Museum ▲Lotte World Folk Museum ▲Lotte Museum ▲Korea Advertising Museum.

Every year, during the summer and winter vacations, families including children and students can enjoy various exhibitions with different themes such as history, archaeology, folklore, art, sports, and advertising.

Local governments, public institutions, and private companies collaborate to provide cultural enjoyment opportunities for local residents, receiving great responses every year.

This winter vacation, a variety of exhibition programs have been prepared to broaden knowledge and cultivate sensitivity through educational activities.

Currently, programs reflecting the characteristics of each museum are being operated, including ▲"Me in Space" at Songpa-gu Yesong Art Museum ▲"Humming, Songbook Stories" at Songpa Book Museum ▲"Open! Baekje Village," "Dream Village Experience! Bukbukbakk," and "Journey to Find Stamps" at Mongchon History Museum ▲"Lively! Living Museum" and "The Story of the Twelve Zodiac Signs in Artifacts" at Lotte World Folk Museum.

This museum outing is conducted in the form of a stamp tour to add fun to participation. Visitors who bring the appreciation activity sheet distributed commonly at the museums and enjoy the programs can receive confirmation stamps.

Those who collect all seven museum confirmation stamps can also receive an official certificate of completion. The certificate is provided at the last museum visited regardless of the order of visits.

In particular, this certificate is very popular as it can be submitted later as a school vacation assignment.

For detailed information such as program schedules and participation fees, please check each museum’s website or contact them by phone.

Songpa-gu Mayor Seong-su Park said, “Institutions throughout Songpa-gu have joined forces to create a cultural experience space for residents. We will expand opportunities for cultural enjoyment so that residents’ daily lives become art, and art becomes daily life again, enhancing the dignity of ‘Cultural and Artistic City Songpa.’”
