Gijang-gun and Muju-gun Hold the '40th Youth Exchange Training Activity'

Strengthening Interregional Friendship through Skiing and Sledding Experiences, Taekwondowon Tour, and More

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] On the 17th, Gijang-gun, Busan, announced that 80 youths from Gijang-gun and Muju-gun, Jeonbuk, participated in youth training activities for three days from the 14th to the 16th at Muju Firefly Youth Training Center, Muju Resort, and Taekwondowon.


Since establishing a sisterhood relationship in 1996, Gijang-gun and Muju-gun have been continuously engaging in exchange and cooperation activities in various fields such as youth exchange, agriculture and livestock products, and cultural tourism.


The youth exchange program between Gijang and Muju, which began in 1999 and is now in its 40th year, was created with the purpose of providing youths growing up in completely different environments?coastal and mountainous areas?with diverse experiential opportunities, and has maintained a strong friendship to this day.


During this training activity, youths from the two regions strengthened their friendship through experiences such as skiing and sledding, tours of Taekwondowon, visits to the observatory, and monorail rides.


In particular, members of the Youth Participation Committees from Gijang-gun and Muju-gun participated for the fifth time in this event, monitoring the training program and expanding the scope of autonomous activities through committee meetings and exchange projects.


A Gijang-gun official stated, “The youth exchange activities between Gijang and Muju, which have continued for 40 sessions, are a great topic and a source of pride for the region itself. We will continue to devote our efforts to nurturing future talents through ongoing exchange activities.”
