Geumcheon-gu Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts Lunar New Year Event 진행


[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the ‘2020 Traditional Market Lunar New Year Event’ at six traditional markets and shopping districts in Geumcheon-gu from the 15th to the 19th in celebration of the Lunar New Year.


This Lunar New Year event will be held sequentially at six traditional markets and shopping districts: Hyundai Market, Eunhaengnamu Market, Nammun Market, Doksandong Woo Market, Doksandong Matnaneun-gil Shopping District, and Daemyeong Yeoulbit-gil Market.


First, ‘Hyundai Market’ will hold various events such as a pungmul band performance, rice cake soup rice cake sharing event, invited singer performance, and Gakseori performance at Saejaemi Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 15th.


‘Eunhaengnamu Market’ will hold a meaningful time sharing affection among neighbors by hosting a multicultural family invited rice cake soup rice cake slicing and dumpling making experience event at Market Square 2 from 2:30 p.m. on the 15th. On the 19th, a magic show will be presented at Market Square 1 from 1:30 p.m.


At ‘Nammun Market,’ starting with a pungmul band performance at 2 p.m. on the 16th to mark the beginning of the event, various events such as sharing injeolmi rice cakes, rice cake soup sharing, and a prize event using roulette will be held for two days until the 17th.


At ‘Doksandong Woo Market,’ from 10 a.m. on the 17th, various events such as garaetteok rice cake slicing experience, folk game experiences like jegichagi and yutnori, and prize giveaways for customers will be held at the market customer parking lot, creating a communication space between residents and merchants.


At ‘Matnaneun-gil Shopping District,’ from 7 p.m. on the 17th, events such as prize giveaways for shopping district customers will be held to show appreciation to customers.


On the 18th, at ‘Daemyeong Yeoulbit-gil,’ from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the intersection square, folk game experiences such as jegichagi and yutnori, invited singer performances, and group performances will take place.


Each market will hold discount events on ritual supplies and other products to express gratitude to customers using the traditional markets. The discount event periods are as follows: △ Woo Market, 10th to 27th △ Eunhaengnamu Market, 14th to 21st △ Daemyeong Market, 14th to 23rd △ Hyundai Market, 15th to 19th △ Nammun Market, 20th to 23rd.
