[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] A Blue House petition titled "Do not disband Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's investigation team" has garnered more than 200,000 signatures. The Blue House provides official responses to petitions that receive over 200,000 endorsements.

The petition titled "Do not disband Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's investigation team into the three major allegations," posted on the Blue House petition board on the 6th, had received over 220,000 signatures as of 1 p.m. on the 15th.

The petitioner wrote, "These days, the Blue House and the Ministry of Justice keep calling for prosecutorial reform whenever they speak, but what exactly are they trying to reform and how?" adding, "Currently, the prosecution is performing better than ever in history and enjoys overwhelming support from the majority of the public."

They continued, "Historically, the biggest problem with the prosecution was that despite being a key institution in the separation of powers, it became a servant of power or the president's watchdog," and claimed, "However, since Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol took office, things have changed. He began investigating without yielding to the living power."

The petitioner pointed out, "The majority of the public cheered and actively supported this, but the president and Blue House insiders are the most uncomfortable. When the president appointed Prosecutor General Yoon, he instructed him to investigate fairly regardless of status, but that was just words," they criticized.

They added, "I earnestly advise Minister Chu Mi-ae to heed the will of the majority of the people and not leave a lasting regret."

Earlier, on the 8th, the Ministry of Justice announced a high-ranking prosecutorial personnel reshuffle, promoting five senior prosecutors to the rank of high prosecutors and five to chief prosecutors, while transferring 22 chief prosecutors. This reshuffle resulted in the replacement of many of Prosecutor General Yoon's key aides.
