Achieved the highest 'A' grade in the '2019 Civil Service Comprehensive Evaluation'... Ranked in the top 10% among 304 public institutions nationwide... Honored as the best institution for 3 consecutive years
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) has achieved the highest grade, 'A', in the '2019 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation' jointly conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
This is a remarkable achievement for three consecutive years since 2017.
The '2019 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation' was conducted on a total of 304 institutions nationwide, including local governments, central administrative agencies, and metropolitan and provincial offices of education.
The evaluation period covered from October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019, and included three areas: △civil service administrative management foundation △operation and processing status of civil service systems △civil service satisfaction, with five categories and 19 indicators assessed through document review and satisfaction surveys.
To ensure expertise and fairness, the evaluation was conducted through an external professional service agency (Korea Management Association Consulting) on a consignment basis.
The district received high praise for successfully implementing △installation of 'unmanned civil service issuance machines' outside to enable 24/7 issuance of civil documents △establishment of an emergency civil service processing system related to residents' life and safety and enrollment of all residents in life safety insurance △providing civil service convenience for socially vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and the elderly △and expressing various interests and commitments by the head of the institution to improve civil service administration.
In particular, this year, for the first time, indicators related to the People's Petition System were included, and Dongdaemun-gu scored very high in key national policy areas such as civil petition reception and processing, reflection of public opinions, and efforts to promote proactive administration.
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, "I am very pleased that the efforts made with our staff to provide civil services that meet the expectations of our residents have led to the honor of being selected as the best institution in the comprehensive civil service evaluation for three consecutive years. We will continue to do our best so that all residents, including socially vulnerable groups, can conveniently and promptly use civil services."
Last year, Dongdaemun-gu was selected as the best institution in the '2018 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation,' receiving a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety and a special grant of 50 million won. The grant was invested in improving the environment of the comprehensive civil service office and expanding resident convenience facilities, further enhancing residents' convenience in using the comprehensive civil service office.
